Staff Requirements  

  •  Must have completed a military boot camp or academy type training.
  • Must be at least 21 years old or older.
  • Must not have a child or relative in the organization.
  • Must not have been charged with or convicted of a felony.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Some college preferred.
  • Computer / administrative skills preferred (MS Office experience).
  • Be able to dedicate a minimum of 8 hours per month (two, four hour cadet meetings). 

Staff Positions and Volunteer Descriptions

                  1.  Commanding Officer:

                  2.  Executive OfficerThe XO is the Company Commander’s principal assistant, responsible for directing,
                       coordinating, supervising and training the staff except in areas the Company Commander reserves. The 
                       Company Commander normally delegates executive management authority to the XO. The XO frees the
                       Company Commander from routine details and passes pertinent data, information and insight from the
                       staff to the Company Commander and from the Company Commander to the staff. The XO also takes
                       charge in the absence of the CO.  The XO will:

 

·         Plan and preside over meetings and special events

·         Execute all orders within the company

·         Establish and maintain the rank structure within the company

·         Execute the daily training plans

·         Disseminate information/issues orders

·         Exercise command through the chain of command

·         Inspect and follows up on instructions

·         Accept responsibility for all Staff members actions

·         Monitor the fiscal status of the company

·         Supervise and advise all Staff Members.

                

                 3.  Personnel and Administration (S1):  A Staff Member assigned to manage all matters concerning human
                      resources including personnel readiness, personnel services and headquarters management.  This Staff
                      Member is specifically responsible for:

 

·         Correspondence between the unit and HQ, MCM and outside of MCM

·         Publication of orders made by HQ, MCM and or the Commanding Officer
·     Administrative records and unit personnel files.

·         Accurate minutes and attendance of all meetings.

·         Maintenance of unit personnel records.

 

                 4.  Public Affairs and Recruitment (S2):  A Staff Member responsible to plan, coordinate and supervise 
                      all Cadet recruiting activities to include mailings, recruiting booths, telephone campaigns and media 
                      interviews.  The S2 is also responsible for informing Cadets of recruiting activities and maintaining the
                      Cadet recruiting incentive award program. This Staff Member is specifically responsible for:

       Recruitment and retention of Cadets/recruits

·       Managing the company webpage

·       Photographing events and training activities

·       Submitting press releases to local media and appropriate websites

·       Serving as the primary liaison for the Board of Directors


                 5.  Operations and Training (S3):  A Staff Member responsible for all matters concerning training, operations and
                      plans. This includes
establishment of all operational aspects and training activities of the unit and execution
                      of a dynamic training program. This Staff Member is specifically responsible for:

         ·         Development of annual and quarterly training plan
         ·         Scheduling Unit Training Assemblies
         ·         Development Training Schedules
         ·         Training records and reports submission
         ·         Accurate minutes and attendance of all meetings
         ·         Prepare and issue company Operation Orders.

 

 

 
                 6.  Supply and Logistics (S4)A Staff Member responsible for coordinating the logistics integration of   
                 supply, maintenance
, transportation, and
services for the organization. This Staff Member is
                       specifically responsible
for:
 

·         All supply related issues within the Company

·         Monitor the number, condition and security of supplies

·         Coordinate the ordering, receipt and issuance of uniforms and insignia
·         Coordinate unit travel arrangements for Trips and Annual Training

 

 
Administrative Staff Application Process

1.  Those interested should contact us through via our contact form for information.  

2.  Within one week a staff member will contact you to briefly explain how our organization operates and answer any questions that may arise.  Staff will also make an appointment to meet with us at our headquarters on board the USS Massachusetts.

3.  During the meeting you will meet the Staff who will explain in detail how our organization operates to include fees associated and Staff expectations. 

4.  After the meeting  you will be asked to fill out and application.  You may also take the application home and return with it at a later time.     

5.   Once we receive a signed completed application and a thorough background investigation is complete and no issues arise you will be accepted as an Administrative Staff member. 

6.   On your first meeting as a Staff Member and until you are comfoprtable you will work beside current Staff members.
