• Must have received a high school diploma or GED certification.
• Must be 21 years old or older.
• Must NOT have a child or relative in the organization.
• Must not have been charged with or convicted of a felony.
• Must have an active driver’s license.
• Prior military service or related experience preferred.
• Be able to dedicate a minimum of 4 hours per month (1, four hour cadet meetings or event).  

 
Instructor Volunteer Description

1. Carry out the Staffs instructions and ensure Cadets follow the prescribed training schedule.

    

2. Supervise, keep accountability and ensure all Cadets are in a safe training environment.

    

3. Assist Cadets with accomplishing goals listed on the training schedule.

    

4. Report any misconduct or inappropriate behavior of other instructors or Cadets to the Organizations Staff immediately.

    

5. Serve as a role model for all Cadets and motivate them to do well in the program and in life.

    

6. Serve as chaperons during fun activities, trips, fundraising events and functions.

    

7. Provide recommendations of how to better the organization and help youths in the community.

    

8. Take attendance and ensure gear accountability

Instructor Application Process

1.  Those interested should contact us through via our contact form for information.  

2.  Within one week a staff member will contact you to briefly explain how our organization operates and answer any questions that may arise.  Staff will also make an appointment to meet with us at our headquarters on board the USS Massachusetts.

3.  During the meeting you will meet the Staff who will explain in detail how our organization operates to include fees associated and Staff expectations. 

4.  After the meeting  you will be asked to fill out and application.  You may also take the application home and return with it at a later time.     

5.   Once we receive a signed completed application and a thorough background investigation is complete and no issues arise you will be accepted as an instructor.  We will also give you an instructor handbook that will outline our expectations. (currently the instructor handbook is not available).

6.   On your first meeting as an instructor and until you are comfoprtable you will work beside current instructors.
